Seattle Seahawks cornerback Trevon Diggs doesn’t have a complicated base contract. His salary is the veteran’s minimum and he has no signing bonus or any additional guaranteed money. But for the former All-Pro, if he makes the roster and gets significant playing time, he stands to make much more than the minimum.
ESPN’s Brady Henderson pulled down a copy of Diggs’ contract, which includes up to $2 million in incentives between participation and performance. The ball-hawk from Alabama, who once picked
off 11 passes back in 2021, could earn $1 million if he gets seven in 2026.
The incentives are not necessarily a guarantee that someone has a roster spot lined up. Last year, wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling had a reported $1.5 million in incentives he could’ve reached with the Seahawks,but he was let go during final cuts.
Diggs could play in the preseason finale against the Chiefs, and with the cornerback room far from settled outside of Josh Jobe and Devon Witherspoon, the former Cowboys star has a chance to prove that he is at least really close to his pre-2023 self in terms of health.
