Jacob Fatu returned to SmackDown on September 26, after disappearing from the television show with no explanation for about one month prior to that. Upon his return, Fatu kicked off a new feud with Drew McIntyre; they are scheduled to fight each other on tomorrow night’s (Oct. 17) episode.
It seems doubtful that match is happening now. According to BodySlam.net, Fatu has suffered a non-wrestling injury that could keep him out of action for an extended period of time, perhaps well into 2026. There
are no other details at this time about the nature of his injury.
Fatu is among the most protected stars in WWE’s booking, and is one of those guys like Bron Breakker who is often talked about as a potential WrestleMania main eventer. It’s a major loss for the WWE roster if he’s gone for a long time, especially with this report coming the same week as Seth Rollins’ injury that led to The Vision’s shocking turn on him.
We’ll bring you more on this story as we have it, Cagesiders.
