We’ve made it to the last day of the season.
There isn’t much to say. The Jays win, and they are first in the AL East, earning a bye to the ALDS. Last year we were 74-87 going into the last day of the season.
There isn’t much more to say. Win. If they don’t, there will be a lot of thinking to be done by the front office and coaching staff.
There is no doubt that Kevin Gausman should be the starter. You can’t play the game to lose, you have to play to win.
Also, there should be no debate that Tray Yesavage is part of the playoff rotation, as much as Buck tried to tell us he shouldn’t be part of it. I understand that some believe veterans should be given a pass, regardless of how things are going. Cito used to do that, and it would drive me crazy.
The last lineup of the season, playing against a lefty starter:
They don’t figure Bo would be back for the Wild Card series, they are hoping he’ll be ready for the ALDS. He’s still not running. And Chris Bassitt should be available for the ALDS.
The end of September and the Dome is open:
I like this quote from Trey Yesavage. I’m a big believer in taking a moment to soak things in. When COVID hit and everything stopped, there was an activity I did that I didn’t think would ever come back, and I couldn’t remember the last time it happened. It did come back, and now I take a moment to take it in, cause it might be the last time it happens.
