Barcelona boss Hansi Flick explained his decision to rest Lamine Yamal for Sunday’s La Liga clash against Sevilla ahead of kick-off at Camp Nou.
Yamal missed training in the week due to illness but was back with the team before the game. Flick says he is available for selection but that he wants to give the teenager a breather.
“These three games before the break are very important. We are looking for victories, we must start with today,” he told DAZN. “He needs to have a break and Roony can play and do
well. He’s ready to step in if we need him.
“I’m really looking forward to playing this match for the fans; 62,000 spectators, that’s incredible. The atmosphere was fantastic against Atlético. I hope it’ll be the same today. It’s so important to have the supporters with us.”
Flick has rested Yamal but still named a strong team with Pedri, Marc Bernal, Dani Olmo, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha all in the XI for the match.
