Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Packers fans and fans across the country.
The Green Bay Packers have the most prolific receiving duo in the NFL this season. No pair of teammates has combined for more receiving yards than Christian Watson and Matthew Golden to this point in the season, as each of the two star receivers have eclipsed 500 yards in just six games so far.
Watson’s 538 yards rank fifth in the NL, while
Golden is one spot behind him at 501. But it’s not just the yardage, it’s also the big plays; Watson is tied for 4th among qualifying receivers in yards per reception at 18.6, while Golden is again 6th at 16.7.
The Packers still have 11 games to go on the regular season, putting this pair on pace for over 1,400 yards apiece. But last Sunday, it was Golden taking the lead, as he posted a second straight 100-yard game and he has hit the century mark in three of the last four to close Watson’s gap. Golden even holds a notable lead over Watson in targets at 57 to 48, though he has just one more catch (30 to 29). Of course, he could have had a few more big plays if not for some uncharacteristic drops on Sunday, as the yardage he left on the field should have pushed him up into the team lead.
The back-and-forth between these two players has us wondering which player Packers fans think will win this friendly battle at the end of the season. Give us your response to that question as well as your overall confidence on the Packers’ direction in this week’s survey.
