The announcement from several reputable sources that PSV player Ismael Saibari to Bayern Munich is a done deal follows weeks of negotiations between the Dutch and German champions. Fans can breathe a sigh of relief that the second transfer of the summer has likely been completed. But, as with any transfer, the cost of the deal is so very important.
Dutch sports reporter Jeroen Kapteijns reports (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) on the details of the transfer fee, as well as the structure and the length
of the deal:
Details of the Saibari to Bayern deal:
• €50m fixed fee
• €5m add-ons very easy to achieve
• Sell-on percentage for PSV
• 5-year contract until 2031
This transfer could become PSV’s record sale. Both Cody Gakpo and Hirving Lozano left PSV for around 50 million euros, so if Saibari’s add ons are triggered, he will overtake the former duo on the list.
One has to wonder how much money the sell on percentage will get the Eredivise champions, given Saibari will be 31 once his contract at Bayern ends. But who knows?
