The Husker men are the #2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament! What a crazy, amazing season for Fred Hoiberg and his team. Locking in the #2 seed with a win over Iowa only makes it better.
The women had to watch most of their Big Ten tournament from the stands. After their first-round loss to Indiana, the ladies have to be feeling very uncomfortable about a bid to the NCAA tournament. As of Saturday night, ESPN Bracketology still had them as one of the last four teams in – which is a bad place to be if
there are any bids stolen. Utlimately, UCLA absolutely destroyed Iowa in the B1G championship game and has a #1 seed locked up for the dance.
On the bright side, my Jackrabbits (WBB) won the Summit League title game over the Bison of NDSU and will return to the NCAA tournament for the 14th time since 2009. They don’t usually make a lot of noise in the tournament but they are a consistent and well-coached program that maximizes their talent.
It wasn’t just Husker men’s basketball that had a great weekend. The baseball team swept Michigan State and softball beat up on some mid-major opponents (including my Jackrabbits). You can read about all of these below.
