The Atlanta Braves enjoyed an off day Thursday before heading to the Lone Star State for a weekend series with the Houston Astros. The Braves enter play with a four-game lead in the NL East and are coming off a series loss to the Chicago Cubs. The Astros also lead their division and enter play with a 77-76 record.
Tyler Mahle, Grant Holmes, and Martín Pérez are each penciled in to start. They will face off against Peter Lambert, Hayden Wesneski, and Hunter Brown. The series gets underway tonight at
8:10 ET.

Houston Astros outfielder Jake Meyers reportedly suffered a season-ending injury after fouling a ball off his left knee cap. He was placed on the minor league injured list.
The Washington Nationals reinstated right-hander Josiah Gray from the 60-day injured list. Once he makes it into a game, it will be his first MLB appearance since April 2024.
