The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-0 heading into their Week 2 matchup on the road against the Tennessee Titans.
Jalen Hurts was able to do enough offensively to get a win in the team’s season opener, and the defense learned a lesson early in the season by letting the Commanders come back in that game. Still, there were flashes of things to be really excited about, including Dontayvion Wicks being a nice deep threat, Jalen Carter still blocking kicks, and Moro Ojomo sniffing out a way to stop the 2-point
conversion at the end of the game.
And, while a win is a win, the Eagles looked far from a finished product, which is to be expected — especially considering the starters didn’t play in the preseason, and Week 1 was their first time in their new scheme in a game. Given that, the group did just fine. But, they’ll still need to improve, and will be facing a Titans team that is mad that they lost to the Jets.

Earlier in the week the Eagles placed Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson on IR, and the team wouldn’t reveal who would be stepping into that role. Drew Kendall is the expected choice given his experience, but Willie Lampkin is someone the team might consider as well. They had backup OT Fred Johnson subbing in at left guard during the portion of practice open to the media, which was clearly a smokescreen, but could also be an unexpected choice.
Whomever the Eagles go with up front, the group as a whole will need to play a lot better than they did to open the season, especially to get the run game going and give Jalen Hurts a little help. The QB had a great game, and took matters into his own hands more than once, but the group had three consecutive three-and-outs in the second half, which wasted a lot of good-field opportunities by the defense.
With so many changes in the offseason, it’s going to take several weeks for things to start clicking on both sides of the ball, but hopefully the team just continues to improve.
