The Cleveland Browns start against the New York Jets in Week 5 was problematic in multiple ways. QB Geno Smith had all the time in the world on the Jets first drive, which ended with a WR Garrett Wilson touchdown. On Cleveland’s second drive on offense, OT Tytus Howard limped off injured but returned a few snaps later.
Shortly after that, WR KC Concepcion was the intended receiver on a pass from QB Deshaun Watson, when former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick hit him in the head. Fitzpatrick has
had the ire of Browns fans for years after his helmet-to-knee hit ended RB Nick Chubb’s season a few years ago.
Fitzpatrick led with his helmet and shoulder into Concepcion’s head, earning his second personal foul penalty on the drive, after ripping Concepcion’s helmet off previously:
Concepcion was able to get up and walk off the field under his own power, but Cleveland ruled him out for Week 5 with a head injury as he was walking into the locker room.
