Back in May, reports came out that Tom Pestock — who’s currently working in MLW, MLP, and elsewhere as Bishop Dyer, and who won Money in the Bank and King of the Ring in WWE as Baron Corbin — was done with his obligations elsewhere and was returning to WWE. Then Pestock dismissed parts of the reports but never said he wasn’t returning to WWE.
If you do, then the rest of this post will be familiar.
We’re likely doing another round of this because MLW started a “Bishop Dyer contract dispute” storyline
on pre-taped weekly show Fusion this past Saturday. The promotion is set to announce the fate of their tag titles, which Dyer/Corbin currently holds with Donovan Dijak as The Skyscrapers, on this weekend’s Fusion (premiering Sat., July 4).
A day later, a Fightful Select post claimed Dyer/Corbin finished up at the May 9 MLW taping in Chattanooga, Tennessee. MLW’s taping-to-air patterns aren’t terribly clear, but given the “contract dispute” angle it seems like we’re close to the end of material from last month in Tennessee. Fightful was also a source of last month’s WWE reports, saying the Bum Ass’ return had been “heavily talked about” at his the company he called home from 2012-2024.
Right on schedule, we get this from the man who plays Corbin and Dyer in all their forms:
Since you already have deja vu about this whole thing, we’ll once again point at the sign…
Who do you believe in this familiar pro wrestling drama, Cagesiders?
