The Dallas Mavericks (12-23) host the Houston Rockets (21-10) on Saturday night. The Mavericks are riding a four game losing streak straight towards the dregs of the Western conference, most recently receiving
belt to behind by the Philadelphia 76ers in a home game Thursday. The Rockets pummeled the Brooklyn Nets on New Year’s Day and have won four straight games.
Heres the main things you need to know before tipoff.
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Houston Rockets
- WHAT: Big boy basketball
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
- WHEN: 7:30 p.m. CST
- HOW: KFAA Channel 29, MavsTV streaming, NBA League Pass
The Dallas Mavericks have a clean injury report minus the guys who are likely out for the whole season. That hasn’t happened in a long, long time. I hope no one gets hurt. The Rockets are without huge person Steven Adams, who is dealing with an ankle sprain and if you didn’t remember, Fred VanVleet is out for the year with a torn ACL. They tend to play big ball.

The Rockets are 7.5 favorites in this game and given how well they’ve played lately, I totally get it. But Dallas is starting a big boy line up with Cooper Flagg at point, Max Christie at shooting guard, then PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford, and Anthony Davis. So if anything, it’s going to be a game played in the mud. Dallas might get their butts kicked tonight but they at least are going to try to be weird to start. That’s always fun. Thanks for hanging out, we’ll see everyone after the game as you read our very good content. Let’s go Mavs.
Consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start LATE. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
