At the other end, they are allowing 1.19 npxG per 90, up from 1.10. They are scoring 1.62 goals and conceding 2.31 per 90, compared with 1.01 and 1.08 respectively last season.
The 2026-27 most-used starters include seven of the 11 players in the 2025-26 selection. Unai López, Sergio Camello, Iván Balliu and Jozhua Vertrouwd
are now in that group.
The centre-backs are receiving the ball at much the same height as last season. They are winning 7.2 second balls per game, up from 6.8.
Their main source of passing threat remains the left flank in the final third, which accounts for around 26%, much the same as last season. Passes from the right flank in the middle third contribute 17%, up from 12% last season.
It is still early in the season, so these patterns have time to develop.
