The National Wrestling Alliance is moving on up in their new television deal. We already knew that Powerrr would have a home on the Comet TV channel, which is owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Network. Now, we know the debut date. The NWA and Sinclair announced a two-night premiere and the regularly scheduled TV time slot.
The NWA arrives on Comet TV starting May 1. The debut episode will be that Friday at 10 pm ET followed by a second new episode of Powerrr on Saturday, May 2 at 4 pm ET. Moving forward,
Powerrr will air regularly on Saturdays at 4 pm ET. Encores air at midnight ET. This new deal marks the return of the NWA to television for the first time in over three decades.
NWA owner Billy Corgan commented on the move to Comet TV.
Wrestling was meant to bring fans closer to the action. The NWA has always been about storytelling, personality, and passion. This partnership with Sinclair’s Comet TV is the first step in NWA’s push into free television and allows us to reconnect with audiences the way I experienced wrestling growing up, when it was accessible to everyone. Sinclair, through its previous stewardship of Ring Of Honor, demonstrates they know how to honor wrestling’s legacy while building for its future. Together, we’re bringing that spirit back to fans and families across the country.
