The Texas Rangers’ FanFest event scheduled to take place at Globe Life Field this Saturday, January 24, 2026, has been cancelled due to inclement weather, the team has announced this afternoon.
A winter storm is expected come through Texas beginning Friday, with a Winter Storm Watch being in place from Friday afternoon through Saturday night. The forecast calls for some sort of frozen precipitation — one or more of freezing rain, sleet, and snow — and the National Weather Service says that “[p]otentially
significant impacts to travel and infrastructure are possible” in North Texas.
Given the likely condition of the roads, the Rangers’ decision to cancel the even “in the interest of safety for players, fans and employees” is understandable. The team says that “[a]ll fans who purchased tickets for Fan Fest will be automatically refunded in full back to the method of payment they used to purchase tickets.”
In addition, events for Winter Warm-up Week will continue as scheduled through Thursday, but not take place on Friday or Saturday.
