When Bomb Squad expert Axel Disasi last played at Selhurst Park, he walked off the pitch with a Crystal Palace shirt draped over his shoulders. If things go well in the next few days, the next time he’s there, he won’t have rely on exchanging shirts to get one.
Back on that April day, Disasi was representing West Ham, on loan from Chelsea. Unfortunately for him, the Hammers would end up getting relegated, so even though they liked him and would’ve liked to keep him, they did not have the budget to do
so. So after months of uncertainty, it’s fallen to Palace to maybe give him a new home, having apparently made an offer for the 28-year-old defender.
According to reports, Palace have submitted a loan offer with a buy-obligation (unconditional?) to help fill the void left by Maxence Lacroix’s move to Chelsea. The loan-with-obligation structure isn’t ideal, but it may be necessary to avoid UEFA classing those two moves as a related swap deal for financial accounting considerations (anything within 45 days of each other, per the new rules).
So hopefully we end up with a win-win-win for all involved in this situation.
