Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Hoops (instead of football for a change)
Yes, we’re in the midst of Mizzou Football season, but Mizzou Hoops is around the corner as well. It was previously announced that Missouri will play at Notre Dame in the Men’s ACC/SEC Challenge this season — and that matchup has been set for 8:00 p.m. CST on ESPNU for December 2nd.
In just about a month, Mizzou will be hosting Kansas State
in an exhibition (set for 9:00 p.m. CST nationally televised on ESPN).
Two weeks prior to that, the men’s and women’s basketball program will be holding a free “Tiger Tipoff” event on October 10th at Mizzou Arena. That happens to be the day before the Mizzou vs Alabama football game.
For more Mizzou Basketball coverage, C.J. Moore of The Athletic joined Sam Snelling on the latest edition of Dive Cuts to discuss all things on the MU-kU rivalry.
This is a must watch as well.
Speaking of schedules, Mizzou Gymnastics released their full 2026 schedule on Wednesday featuring some big-time meets.
Stay tuned for more, as Karen Steger will be providing an in-depth look at a much-anticipated schedule coming up later in the coming days here on Rock M.

I’d sway towards saying 2026 will be a tougher year, having to play at Ole Miss and at Georgia in the same season.
Road games against Georgia and Ole Miss will obviously be tough tests for Mizzou Football.
Nothing seems too difficult these days for Ahmad Hardy. I think my favorite thing about watching him run — and to give Eli Drinkwitz some credit, the zone in general — is how so many runs don’t look like they’ll amount to anything.
It’s a joy to watch Ahmad Hardy run the football.
UMass is not a good FBS team and should be treated as such. Let’s make this Saturday a nice, easy, luxurious viewing of your favorite football team stomping the daylights out of an overmatched foe.
UMass might be in the MAC now, but this is almost a second FCS game for Mizzou.
The Keydets don’t have much in the way of a storied history. They’ve been to the NCAA Tournament three times, but their last trip was in 1977. Although they did make the Regional Final the year before in 1976. Since their last trip they only have three 20-win season, and 16 single digit win seasons.
Read up on the Keydets from the SoCon as Mizzou matches up with VMI for the first time in program history.

Texas A&M (8-2) has lived up to expectations thus far, ranking inside the top 15 in the nation.
The Aggies proved they’re worthy of that ranking with a four-set win over Mizzou in College Station to begin SEC play.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but Best Bets once again had a winning weekend in Week 4. Not only did we have our fourth straight winning weekend, but we once again went 2-1 in our Best Bets and 4-2 overall in our picks.
Nathan previews Week 5 of the College Football season from a betting angle.
Only one road game in 2026 immediately stands out as a mountainous challenge, while the Tigers should be able to catch a rebuilding Florida, Oklahoma, Texas and A&M at home.
While the 2026 schedule sets up to be tough, Mizzou also has some opportunities to take advantage of.
Mizzou continues to search for a staple win on the season, losing its latest attempt to No. 13 Texas A&M 20-25, 17-25, 26-24, 8-25.
Dawn Sullivan’s is still searching for a statement win. Tigers fall to 0-1 in SEC play, and it doesn’t get any easier for them with No. 2 Texas up next on Friday in Austin.
Plus, stay up to date on all things football, basketball (with official practice starting), and Olympic Sports.
