The Miami Hurricanes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish were can’t-miss television last year. And with the drama that went down last college football season and the way both teams’ respective seasons ended, it will be again when the teams meet in 2026.
As such, it’s no surprise that the Hurricanes and Irish will meet in primetime again next season. UM announced the game time on Thursday morning, and it will be at 7:30 pm ET, televised on NBC and Peacock.
The game should be one of the most interesting and anticipated matchups of the season for a number of reasons. First, both teams should be on the short list of teams capable of winning the national title in 2026. As such, we could be seeing another top 10 battle like we saw to start last season.
But the way the regular season and CFP selection ended certainly added some sizzle to next year’s matchup. The Hurricanes were looking up at the Irish despite the head-to-head result from the first set of rankings. But Miami got hot and climbed closer, finally forcing the committee to recognize the Canes’ 31-28 win on the final day. Miami got the nod, Notre Dame was left out entirely, and the rivalry grew a new chapter that day.
We should be in for another great game on November 7. Both teams should be outstanding, and the game should be a close and competitive one between two of the nation’s best.
Once again, the Hurricanes-Irish rivalry is right back to where it once was many years ago. And it’ll be on full display for a very big audience to watch late in the season.
