Better to be safe than sorry …
Following UFC 329 tonight (Sat., July 11, 2026) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, promotion officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that one fighter was transported to a local “Sin City” hospital for precautionary reasons after sustaining damage in his respective bout.
The lone fighter transported was Light Heavyweight veteran Nikita Krylov.
Krylov (31-12) was taken to the hospital for a scan of his jaw following his technical knockout loss to Robert Whittaker in the UFC
329 “Prelims” headliner (watch highlights).
Whittaker cracked Krylov with a punch during their 205-pound clash, and Krylov immediately waved off the fight, unable to continue. While the finish was strange, it was clear Krylov knew something was wrong.
Thankfully, it appears the longtime UFC veteran avoided a serious injury.
UFC CEO Dana White later confirmed that Krylov did not suffer a broken jaw and was eventually released from the hospital.
Krylov, 34, has now lost three of his last four fights, with all three defeats coming by finish. Prior to the loss to Whittaker, “The Miner” knocked out Modestas Bukauskas at UFC 324.
It is normal for UFC to transport fighters to the hospital for precautionary reasons, especially after fighters are involved in damaging three-round battles, suffer nasty knockouts or sustain injuries that need additional evaluation.
In this case, only one fighter needed a post-fight hospital trip after a violent night in Las Vegas.
And thankfully, it sounds like Krylov avoided the worst-case scenario.
