Now that star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence has requested a trade from the New York Giants, you can bet that GM Joe Schoen has been fielding phone calls this afternoon inquiring about the price tag.
As it happens, we are in the midst of making selections for the annual SB Nation Writer’s Mock Draft. I have already made my selection for the Giants at No. 5. No, I will not spill it here. You will just have to wait to find out.
What has happened, though, is that figurative GMs in our SB Nation mock
have started ringing my phone with offers for Sexy Dexy.
Our Baltimore Ravens website, Baltimore Beatdown, was first in line. So, pretend Ravens GM Nikhil Mehta has set the bar for potential Lawrence trade offers.
I will not do a Lawrence trade in this mock draft without a first-round pick. So, here is my ask from the Ravens:
I requested pick No. 14 in Round 1, pick No. 45 in Round 2, and a player.
Mehta said no to 14 AND 45. So, the current counter is pick 14, pick 80 (Round 3), and defensive tackle Broderick Washington, a rotational player Mehta described as a “Harbaugh guy.”
For reference, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reminded that the Dallas Cowboys gave up a 2026, second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick, and defensive tackle Mazi Smith to get Quinnen Williams from the New York Jets.
So, what do you think of my offer from the Ravens? What would your ask be in any trade, Ravens or otherwise?
