Barcelona have reportedly offered defender Andreas Christensen a new two-year contract at the club.
Christensen is out of contract at the end of the season but has been offered the extension by Deco on a “significantly lower salary than he currently earns,” according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Denmark international is apparently yet to make a decision but has previously insisted that he wants to continue and doesn’t really have a Plan B.
Christensen arrived at Barcelona in 2022 but has struggled with injury
throughout his time at the Camp Nou. He’s managed 97 appearances in total since then, scoring five goals for the Catalan giants.
The 29-year-old has looked good in Barca colors when he’s played but his injury record is poor and he’s currently out with a partial ACL tear, meaning it’s uncertain if he will feature again this season.
With Barca continuing to work under tight financial limits, the question now is whether extending Christensen’s contract is the right decision by Barcelona?
So now tell us what you think. Are Barcelona making the right decision with Christensen? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
