Liverpool continue their preseason tour of the United States of Trump by playing Deadpool FC’s Wrexham presented by Disney+ with special guest stars It’s Always Sunny. Last time out on Liverpool’s preseason journey we saw a mostly youthful side beat Sunderland 4-2, and we should probably expect a similar lineup here as most of Liverpool’s nailed-on starting XI are just starting to trickle back and begin training
following the World Cup.
However, on that front the trio of Ryan Gravenberch, Florian Wirtz, and Alexander Isak have at this point joined up with the rest of the squad, and so they could see their first minutes under the new Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola tonight though we can’t imagine any starting or playing significant minutes.
When they are fully match fit and ready to go, it’s probably not an exaggeration to say that if Iraola can get the best out of those three players, Liverpool will likely have a very good season, so it will be interesting to watch how these players are deployed in whatever limited minutes they do get tonight. As for the rest, we’ll be looking forward to seeing what the manager’s press looks like as preseason continues to tick along.
In less positive news, unfortunatly The Reds will likely be without Joe Gomez following his injury just seven minutes into the last fixture. Death, taxes, and Joe Gomez in the physio room. I guess it’s nice sometimes to know that there are at least a few constants you can always count on in life.
