With the Barcelona season rapidly coming to an end, it’s time to think about the biggest tournament in sports: the World Cup is less than a month away, and this promises to be one of the most competitive in history with several teams having a real chance to make a deep run in North America this summer.
The reigning champions come in as one of the main favorites as Argentina return largely the same squad that won in Qatar three and a half years ago, with Lionel Messi hoping to claim a second World
Cup in what’s expected to be his final tournament appearance for the Albiceleste.
Argentina’s main rivals, Brazil, are dark horses but have a very experienced coach in Carlo Ancelotti and a very interesting group of young players and talented forwards led by Barça captain Raphinha. Frenkie de Jong’s Netherlands have a knack for making deep runs in tournaments and can never be counted out, Germany always Germany their way into the final rounds, and the four big European powerhouses in England, France, Portugal and reigning European champions Spain, led by Lamine Yamal and many other Barça stars, all think this is their year.
So today’s Barca Blaugranes Question of the Day is:
Which teams are you most looking forward to watching during the World Cup?
Now it’s over to you! Feel free to share your thoughts, predictions, opinions and answers in the comments section below!
