Well, at least that was an exciting loss, I guess. The Tennessee Titans will have to wait at least another three weeks to win their first back-to-back wins since 2022 (they have their bye after next week). The Titans got off to a fast start in this one. Tony Pollard ran all over the Browns in the first quarter with two rushing touchdowns on the first two possessions. The second was set up by a Cor’Dale Flott interception of Deshaun Watson.
Unfortunately, the Titans wouldn’t score again until Joey
Slye kicked a 29-yard field goal with 8:41 left in the fourth quarter. That’s the product of the offense continuing to be inconsistent. That field goal tied the game at 17.
After the Browns scored a touchdown to go up 24-17, Cam Ward and the Titans put together an 11-play, 63-yard touchdown drive that ended with Pollard scoring his third touchdown of the day from 1 yard out.
The hope was that the game would get to overtime. It did not. The Browns went 55 yards in just 4 plays to set up the game-winning field goal.
There was plenty of good in this game. The Titans have a stud in Carnell Tate. He had 5 catches for 69 yards, including a really nice 18-yard catch to set up Pollard’s game-tying touchdown.
Now, they just need to find a quarterback who can play consistently enough to sustain an offense for 4 quarters.
