It’s officially Week 1, which means it’s 2026 NFL preview season. All across the web, publications will be featuring their previews and predictions for the upcoming football season, and we’re certainly no exception.
On Monday evening, Meko Scott, Ryan Mathews, and I live-streamed our official 2026 Detroit Lions preview podcast. In the show, we broke down what we are most confident in, what our biggest fears are, and made a slew of predictions for the upcoming season. Here’s how our discussion broke down:
Offense:
- What are we certain will happen with the Lions’ offense?
- What are we most unsure about?
- Which Lions player, coach, positional unit have the most pressure on them in 2026?
- What do we need to find out about the offense by Week 6?
- Make a bold prediction about the Lions offense for 2026
Defense:
- What are we certain will happen with the Lions’ defense?
- What are we most unsure about?
- Which Lions player, coach, positional unit have the most pressure on them in 2026?
- What do we need to find out about the defense by Week 6?
- Make a bold prediction about the Lions defense for 2026
Then, of course, we close out with season predictions. Will the Lions win the division? How far can they go in the playoffs? Will the offense and defense be top-5 or top-10 units? All of that—and a lot more—on this week’s episode of the PODcast.
As always, you can catch the video version of the podcast over on our YouTube page and Twitch channel. That comes with bonus between-segments content. This week includes talking about the UM/WMU controversy and storming the field. If you’re an avid YouTube user (or even if you’re not), please consider
