While Season 3 of Unrivaled will not happen until 2027, that doesn’t mean the 3×3 league is sitting idly.
Unrivaled not only continues to add talent, but also stay in touch with fans with a big events scheduled in Chicago and Portland for July. Before we get to those opportunities, let’s break down the players who are now Unrivaled.
And in the comments, be sure to let us know who you’re most excited about watching in 2027, as well as which clubs you hope these Unrivaled newcomers join.
Gabby Williams
WNBA All-Star
starter and French superstar Gabby Williams has signed a multi-year deal with Unrivaled.
Here’s what the Golden State Valkyries forward had to say about joining the league for 2027 and beyond:
I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’ll be playing in Unrivaled next season. The opportunity to compete alongside some of the best players in the world, continue growing my game, and be part of something that is pushing women’s basketball forward is truly special. Can’t wait to get started. See you soon, Unrivaled!”
Williams is having a career year, averaging 15.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. She is also shooting a career-best 35.2 percent from 3-point range. Her joining the league brings in more star power and top-end talent to Unrivaled.
Bridget Carleton
Bridget Carleton is a veteran player who has played professionally in the WNBA, overseas and for the Canadian national team. Now, she’ll add Unrivaled to her playing resume in 2027.
Here’s what she said about this new basketball adventure:
I am so excited to be playing in Unrivaled next season. It’s a special opportunity for me to not only stay closer to home but to continue to expand my game and compete with and against some of the best players in the world.
Carleton is quickly becoming a fan favorite for the expansion Portland Fire. She is averaging 13.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.
Kayla Thornton
Like her Valkyries’ teammate Williams, Kayla Thornton has signed a multi-year deal with Unrivaled.
Thornton has done it all in the WNBA, including winning a title and raising a Commissioner’s Cup banner with the New York Liberty before becoming an All-Star in Golden State. Now, she is Unrivaled.
In her second season with the Valkyries, she is scoring 8.5 points per game while shooting 34 percent from beyond the arc. Her improved shooting ability, combined with her defensive toughness, should enable her to thrive in 3×3.
Marine Johannès
Marina Johannès is an electrifying player. When she gets in rhythm, she can overwhelm teams.
This is exactly what she did this season when she scored 25 points for the Liberty in a win over the Mystics and 21 in a victory against the Mercury.
Now, the 2023 EuroCup champion and Finals MVP will join Unrivaled on a multi-year deal.
Johannès has found success in every league she’s played in, and it’s unlikely that Unrivaled will be an exception.
Flau’jae Johnson
Although just a WNBA rookie, few have the cultural cachet that Flau’jae Johnson has.
From her fits to her rap career to her play on the court, she is one of the most exciting people in basketball. She will fit like a glove in Unrivaled, where her personality and level of play will be celebrated.
During her rookie season with the Seattle Storm, Johnson is averaging 12.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. She has started every game she’s played.
Olivia Miles
Few players have entered the WNBA and dominated it immediately as Olivia Miles has.
An All-Star starter, she has had monster performances like her 31-point game against the Los Angeles Sparks and 29-point outburst against the Las Vegas Aces.
Miles already has an argument as the best guard in the WNBA and is a shoo-in for Rookie of the Year. Her joining Unrivaled is a great get for the league.
Here’s what she said about it:
I couldn’t be more excited to join the long list of incredible players playing in Unrivaled.
This league is building something special for the women’s game and I’m excited to be a part of its long-term growth. I can’t wait to hit the floor next winter to compete alongside the absolute best in the world.
How fans can be Unrivaled this summer
These signings are exciting, but if that’s not enough juice to keep fans satisfied throughout 2026, Unrivaled has a few events to keep the hype going.
On July 18, Unrivaled will collaborate with the Sports Bra in Portland to be a part of the fifth-annual Pride Block Party. The Sports Bra is a sports bar 100 percent dedicated to supporting and showing women’s sports.
Connecting with the community in this way seems like a great idea for the league. With the event running for nine hours, it will certainly be a good time and a long night.
The Unrivaled Coffee Club is coming to Chicago during WNBA All-Star Weekend. This free event will feature player appearances, themed drinks and event-specific merchandise for purchase.
Chicago has shown up in a big way, and this event is already sold out. However, there is a waitlist, so it’s not too late to join this July 24 event.
With signings and multiple events in different cities, Unrivaled is doing a great job of keeping interest in its league during the long offseason.
Hopefully, we’ll get more players, events and other extras as we inch closer to 2027 and Season 3 of Unrivaled.
