Abdullah Mason and Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington will officially return for world title defenses on Saturday, July 4, with the card airing live on both DAZN and TNT.
The TNT broadcast will be exclusive to those in the U.S., while DAZN will have the fights worldwide for all subscribers.
The show will be held at Cleveland’s Wolstein Center. Mason is from nearby Bedford.
Mason (20-0, 17 KO) will make the first defense of his WBO lightweight title, which he won last November, against Joe Cordina (19-1, 9 KO),
a former super featherweight titlist who is 2-0 since moving up to 135 lbs last summer.
Carrington (17-0, 10 KO) is also making a first title defense, putting his WBC featherweight belt on the line against Rene Palacios (19-0-1, 10 KO), who isn’t really seen as a serious world-level contender going in, but will have the chance to change some minds about that.
Both Mason and Carrington will be clear favorites in those fights.
Also on the card, Cleveland native and former Olympian Tiger Johnson will face Christopher Guerrero in a good matchup of unbeaten welterweight hopefuls.
Abdullah’s brothers Abdurrahman Mason and Ibrahim Mason will also be in action in separate four-round bouts.
