Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Cádiz CF for the transfer of Guille González, a 17-year-old right-back widely regarded as one of the Andalusian club’s most promising young talents. The move has been officially confirmed by Cádiz, who revealed that Madrid paid a transfer fee after the defender had recently renewed his contract.
González now begins a new chapter after an exemplary rise through Cádiz’s youth system. He joined the club at just 12 years old, steadily progressing through every
age group before making his debut this season with Mirandilla, Cádiz’s reserve side. His consistent performances and maturity earned him a call-up to the Spain U-18 national team, further highlighting his rapid development.
In a statement, Cádiz paid tribute to both the player and his journey:
“Guille embarks on a new chapter after an exemplary career in our youth academy. He arrived at Cádiz at just 12 years old, progressing step by step through each of our teams until making his debut this season with Mirandilla… Cádiz Club de Fútbol can only express its pride and gratitude for everything Guille has given to this club and wish him the very best of luck in his personal and professional future. This will always be his home.”
At Valdebebas, the plan is for González to initially join Julián López de Lerma’s Juvenil A side, where competition for minutes will be fierce. Despite knowing that playing time will not come easily, the young defender and his family embraced the challenge without hesitation.
González will also be reunited with several familiar faces from Spain’s youth national teams, including Lezcano, Adri Pérez, and Lacosta, easing his transition into Real Madrid’s academy. Additionally, Álvaro Arbeloa will be closely monitoring his progress, with the long-term possibility of integration into the Castilla setup should his development continue on its current trajectory.
For Real Madrid, the signing reinforces their ongoing commitment to identifying and securing elite young talent early. For Guille González, it represents a significant step forward—one that brings both heightened expectations and the opportunity to grow within one of football’s most demanding and prestigious environments.
