The Eagles are headed into their second preseason game unlikely to start many of their top players. Instead, again, it will be about the young guys with an opportunity to prove themselves. How quickly can Makai Lemon catch up?
Makai Lemon is finally back at practice after missing a few weeks while recovering from a hamstring injury. He’s not expected to play on Saturday night but we’ll
see if he’s able to get any pregame workout action in. Lemon returning to practice after this game would be a good step towards him being ready for the regular season.
Will Eli Stowers take another step?
Eli Stowers was mediocre at best in his NFL debut. He needs to show a lot more as a receiver to prove he can be valuable early in his pro career, even just as a backup to Dallas Goedert. Stowers should see a ton of snaps and get opportunities as a receiver and blocker.
Is the Markel Bell hype legit?

Okay, so, what’s up with this Kapena Gushiken?
The Eagles have a promising rookie safety in Kapena Gushiken. The former Ole Miss defender is versatile, physical and plays with a ton of confidence. He looked really impressive against Baltimore, so I will have close eyes on how he plays against New England. The Eagles’ lack of safety depth means a strong preseason could earn the UDFA a roster spot.
