In the wake of the 2026 NFL Draft, there is a whole different set of undrafted players the team will work to sign to the 90-man offseason roster. The Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly begun signing players, but we will not know officially until the team releases its 90-man roster at its rookie minicamp next week.
Still, there are names among the reported group that will garner the most attention, so let’s see who has caught the eyes of the Arrowhead Pride community.
Of the five names at different
positions I chose to use for the poll, Wyoming tight end John Michael Gyllenborg — an alum of Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, MO — was the clear winner, and might have been a weighted option of the five in retrospect.
Over one-fourth of voters chose “Other,” and here were the most notable comments to support that answer:

S DeShon Singleton for me. I thought they still needed to add another safety who is best at stopping the run and that’s what he brings plus some special teams ability

Jeff Caldwell (please, pretty please, give us a tall x WR who is also lightning quick)…
ReadyForFBSeason
I predict Jeff Caldwell will be the new Justyn Ross. Fans will fall in love with his physical traits and scream for him to replace [whichever WR is underperforming]. But then 2-3 years from now, he’ll be released and leave us scratching our heads why the coaches could never utilize him.

I wanted the Chiefs to draft Gyllenborg, so I’ll go with him. I also have hopes for Terion Stewart. But I have 3 under the radar choices that probably nobody else would agree with– DT Damon Payne, Jr., DE Ethan Hurkett, and OG Josh Thompson. You heard it here first….and probably last!

Caldwell has a decent shot with his talent, measurables and the lack of WR on the roster. One of the UDFA defensive backs (Singleton/Nwankpa/Phillips?) will make the roster as a special teamer / reserve DB.

Caldwell, Singleton.
Gyllenborg is PS candidate. He doesn’t look as athletic on tape as he tested, has extremely short arms, and isn’t known as a great blocker. I still think Briningstool will make it ahead of him as the 4th TE. It’s also a strong possibility that Wiley is cut and Gyllenborg makes the roster. Wiley has shown basically nothing so far and barely got snaps after returning from his injury, he’s far from a roster lock.

Wesley Bissainthe LB Miami FL
A lot of starting experience at a high-level program and also special teams experience, and the Chiefs didn’t draft any LBs or add anyone in free agency, so the opportunity is there.

WR Jeff Caldwell
DE Ethan Hurkett
OG Josh Thompson
DT Cole Brevard

Position ending in E. Either the TE or DE.
