The Las Vegas Raiders are about to face off with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon. It has been a long season for the Silver and Black with the 2-5 start, and they are hoping for a spark coming
off the bye.
A place where the team has struggled is stopping the pass. While the Raiders are fourth in the NFL in run defense EPA, they are 25th in passing EPA. When they face quality quarterbacks, the team has been picked apart and has struggled to stop opposing passing attacks. It has mainly been exposed in the middle of the field where teams are attacking linebackers and their slot cornerbacks.
With this in mind, the Raiders decided to make moves to help themselves stop the pass. A young player who played well in training camp was Greedy Vance. He got the call to be elevated to the roster for Week 9.
Vance was called up earlier in the season, but didn’t get many snaps during his performance. The former USC cornerback is hoping he can make an impact on Sunday with his second chance at NFL action. If he can help out the Raiders’ passing defense, fans can expect Vance to be a consistent contributor for the rest of the season.
