After being months of being heavily linked to Antoine Semenyo, only to pull out because of Manchester City’s commercial might, it’s fair to say that Liverpool have been looking for a winger or two, both as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, and for a particularly frustrating Dutch slumlord, who we have given a contract extension for reasons that escape me.
And while we’re on wish lists, a couple of defenders and a midfielder or two wouldn’t hurt. But I digress.
Anyway, 19-year-old RB Leipzig
(AKA Energy Drink Leipzig) winger Yan Diomande has been linked to Manchester United among other clubs, but the Mancs have apparently found a price tag they’re unwilling to pay—there’s a first time for everything—being put off by his reported £86million asking price.
Liverpool, on the other hand, love a buy-out clause, and love buying players from the Energy Drink clubs. However, this is likely a move that wouldn’t be made until summer. So, stayed tuned I guess. Any chance we can trade them Cody Gakpo, straight up? We could throw in some of the apartments he owns, free of charge.
