It is back to the UEFA Women’s Champions League today for Bayern Munich. The Bavarians take on Juventus as they seek to rebound from a 7-1 crushing at the hands of FC Barcelona last time out, and it is a full slate of action in the UWCL today beyond that:
- Atlético Madrid vs. Manchester United
- Paris Saint-Germain vs. Real Madrid
- Benfica vs. Arsenal
Klara Bühl called on herself and the club to step up in the wake of the Barça debacle and Bayern answered with a hard-fought win over VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday. But this will be another test in short order. A win will go a long way in showing that
the earlier result was just a game that got away — really, really far away — and that the Bavarians do have enough in the tank to manage the demands of multiple competitions this season. A loss will put the club’s UWCL hopes on red alert only two games into the league phase.
Prediction: Bayern pull this one out, but it won’t be easy. 2-1 with all three goals coming in the second half.
It’s Bayern time.
