Real Madrid held their final training session at Real Madrid City on Friday ahead of their La Liga clash with Elche. Alvaro Arbeloa’s side will host the visitors at the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday night (9:00 pm CET) in matchday 28 of the league campaign.
The session began with activation exercises on the pitch, with players working through mobility routines and reaction-speed drills to get the legs moving. From there, the squad moved into rondos before transitioning into tactical and possession-based
work designed to sharpen the team’s structure ahead of the weekend.
The training session also included a short practice match between the players. To wrap things up, the squad focused on finishing exercises as well as free-kick practice.
There was encouraging news regarding Éder Militão. The Brazilian center-back completed part of the session with the group as he continues the final phase of his recovery from the injury he suffered on December 7 during the match against Celta Vigo.
Militão has steadily progressed in recent weeks. After initially returning to individual ball work, he has now begun reintegrating into certain team drills. While he is not yet taking part in full sessions, participating in portions of group training represents a key step toward receiving medical clearance to return to competitive action.
Inside the club, there is growing optimism about his recovery. Real Madrid are cautiously targeting the end of the month as a potential window for his return, although a more conservative timeline could see him come back after the upcoming international break.
Whenever he returns, Militão’s presence would provide a major boost for the squad. Widely regarded as one of the leaders of Madrid’s back line, the Brazilian combines physical dominance, recovery speed, and elite one-on-one defending—qualities that could prove vital during the decisive stretch of the season.
Meanwhile, several players continue working through their recovery programs. David Alaba, Jude Bellingham, Álvaro Carreras, Dani Ceballos, Kylian Mbappé, and Ferland Mendy did not train with the group as they focus on their respective rehabilitation processes.
