Earlier this week, we published our latest SB Nation Reacts surveys, brought to you by the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook, asking Detroit Lions fans two questions:
- Are you confident the Lions are headed in the right direction?
- What should the Lions do at the NFL trade deadline?
As for our weekly survey, we’ve seen
things settle in after a bumpy few weeks following a Week 1 loss. After their last game, we saw fans’ confidence in the direction of the team land at 98%, and despite them being on a bye last week, there wasn’t much change, as they check in at 97% in this week’s survey.
As for this week’s standalone question—What should the Lions do at the NFL trade deadline?—Lions fans showed a significant lean towards the team being “buyers” at next week’s trade deadline, with 59% wanting general manager Brad Holmes to go shopping.
With the majority of fans grouping together, let’s look at the comment section of our original survey to allow Lions fans to explain their reactions and voting choices (slightly edited for clarity):
- wwcjd: “Buyers, if someone is there, you should always be trying to improve the team, especially in your SB window.”
- Hankfan232425: “For me, acquiring talent at the deadline isn’t about now, it’s about December football. I feel if the Lions are healthy, they’re the best team in football. But… There sure is a lot of football left, and I wouldn’t mind a couple of insurance policies via trades.”
- steve52: “I expect Brad to do what he always does: either stand pat, or make a seemingly minor deal that impresses no one, but ends up being a good move.”
Throughout the year, we ask questions of the most plugged-in Detroit Lions fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
