Tyrique George’s transfer to Everton has been made official today, with the 20-year-old joining on a four-year contract good through 2030.
Everton are reportedly paying £24m, though that’s inclusive of the potential £6m in add-ons and bonuses, unlike initially reported (i.e. the fee was initially reported at £24+6m, but it’s instead £18+6m). Still a decent deal for Chelsea, but not quite as decent as before. A 15 per cent sell-on is still included as well, in case George moves somewhere else for a larger
fee in the future. And given his potential, that’s certainly not out of the question.
“We’re pleased to bring Tyrique back on a permanent basis. He made a positive impression during his loan spell with us last season and settled into the group quickly. He’s still young and there’s plenty of development ahead of him, but we believe he’s got the attitude and the ability to keep improving. We’re looking forward to working with him again and helping him fulfil his potential.”

George first joined Chelsea at the U8 level; he would be named our Academy Player of the Year in 2025. He leaves with 37 senior appearances and 6 goals to his name.
Farewell and good luck, Ty!
