Chelsea have reportedly recalled Deivid Washington from his loan at Santos, with the Brazilian Série A side agreeing to cut the deal short at the halfway mark. The young striker had rejoined his boyhood club on loan for the 2025 season in early February, but we did (reportedly) insert a break clause into the deal, which we have now utilized.
Washington was super excited to go back home and play alongside the legendary Neymar, but success on the pitch eluded him (and the team). The 20-year-old scored
just 1 goal in 17 appearances in the league (5 starts) with Santos struggling in the bottom half of the table, trying to stay clear of the relegation zone.
It’s not quite clear what’s next for him at this point, but his return does crucially open up an international loan spot, which we could utilize for those still stuck in the Bomb Squad™ (i.e. DD Fofana or Axel Disasi).
