With the 112th pick in the 2026 MLB Draft the Atlanta Braves have selected overslot Florida prep right hander Cole Dennis. Dennis has risen this spring as he is a talented young arm who is still just 17 years-old and already shown the stuff that makes him worth a high draft choice.

Fastball 55
Dennis is a projectable arm who was hitting 96 MPH already at the combine. The fastball needs to get consistent, which keeps it from a potential plus grade but he could be in the upper 90’s with real life on the pitch.
Slider 55
The slider has the makings of a potential future plus pitch for him as he adds a little bit more power to it.
Changeup 45
The change is a clear third pitch for him and will need more work and reps but he does a good job with keeping it low spin when he does throw it.
Command 45
It’s tough to project his command because although he does throw in the strike zone, he is more about control over command. Still there could be room for growth as he has split his time as a two way star in high school.
Overall Thoughts
This feels like a lottery ticket young arm with a nice package of traits, but one that will need work to achieve his ceiling. If he can fill in and add to his stuff, and see the command take a step forward as he focuses on pitching full time, it is possible his ceiling is that of a middle of the rotation arm.
