After what should have been a win in Week 1 of the NFL season, leading to some guarded optimism about the team, the Cleveland Browns fell back to earth in Week 2 versus the Baltimore Ravens. Whether Joe Flacco or Dillon Gabriel starts in Week 3, Flacco’s career as a starter might have come to an end where it started in Baltimore; the Browns quarterback position is just one concern for the team.
There is still a group of people who believe that Shedeur Sanders has a chance to be the future at the quarterback
position, but the extra first-round pick in 2026 seems like the most likely route for filling that vital role.
Sanders almost didn’t make it to Cleveland. As Adam Schefter reported Sunday, the Ravens wanted to select the Colorado product in the fifth round:
If Sanders is successful with the Browns, rejecting the rivals in Baltimore will often be discussed. If he is not successful in Cleveland, many will wonder what could have been if he had gone to a more stable, winning organization. One way or another, the Shedeur Sanders conversation just added another big piece.
What do you think of Sanders valuing a chance to start over playing for the Ravens?
