Ronda Rousey makes her long-awaited return to mixed martial arts (MMA) against Gina Carano later tonight (Sat., May 16, 2026) LIVE on Netflix from inside the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, Calif., but as massive of an event as that is some people are still rooting for “Rowdy” to lose.
This includes MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, who has heard things about Rousey’s time with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and is convinced the women’s combat sports star is “arrogant.” Earlier this week, Jackson spoke
about Rousey’s past during a live stream and spilled the beans about her behavior towards UFC staff members behind the scenes.
Check it out below:
“I’ve never been a fan of Ronda Rousey,” said Jackson (h/t Sportsskeeda).
“Too arrogant,” he added. “There is nothing wrong with believing in yourself but there’s a fine line. I hate to say this live, but she’s never been nice to staff and stuff like that, you know, behind the scenes people.
“It’s a fine line in believing yourself and being like overly cocky. In fighting, you have to be confident and believe in yourself.”
Rousey, who steps inside of the cage later tonight for the first time in nearly 10 years, is either loved or hated by fight fans. Very few are on the fence about the former UFC superstar. Stories like the one above certainly aren’t a good look for a “role model” like Rousey, but all can be forgotten if she takes care of business against Carano later tonight on Netflix.
