Newcastle United has already brought a winger in following Anthony Gordon’s departure, but the Magpies keep looking for reinforcements on the wings amid the summer transfer window.
After being linked to Real Betis left winger Abde Ezzalzouli throughout the summer, the Magpies seem to have intensified their pursuit of the forward.
According to TEAMtalk, the Magpies have been carrying out regular checks on the Morocco international in recent weeks and are among the clubs showing the strongest interest
in signing the 24-year-old.
“Newcastle United are stepping up their pursuit of Real Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli, with sources confirming the Magpies have been making regular checks on the Morocco international in recent weeks,” the report says. “The 24-year-old, now represented by Footfeel following a recent change of agent as TEAMtalk revealed, has featured on the radar of several clubs across Europe. Yet Newcastle are understood to rank among the most determined suitors for the versatile attacker.”
TEAMtalk reports the winger is open to a move to the Premier League and that a deal could be completed for around €50 million, a figure lower than Real Betis’ initial asking price earlier this summer.
Although Ezzalzouli is a natural left winger, he is capable of playing on either side and is viewed as a strong fit for the current squad because of his pace, direct running and ability to create chances in one-on-one situations.
According to TEAMtalk, Newcastle believes Betis’ valuation makes a transfer feasible and plans to step up talks with both the Spanish club and the player’s representatives over the coming days.
Should Newcastle proceed with a deal, Ezzalzouli would become one of the club’s biggest signings of the summer and provide the Magpies with another versatile attacking option capable of operating across the front line as Newcastle reshapes the squad ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, while still young enough to fit the new recruiting process.
