Additional help is on the way for the Jacksonville Jaguars, as the team has officially announced a return to the field for tight end Brenton Strange, following his six-week recovery (including five games
missed) on the Injured Reserve list.
Strange was a limited participant throughout this week in his return from a hip/quadriceps injury suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs in week five.
Strange, a second-round pick from the 2023 NFL Draft, has appeared in 36 total games in his first three seasons, with an expansion of his role in 2025, as the team moved on from prior starting tight end Evan Engram. Entering the week five matchup where Strange suffered his injury, the sure-handed tight end led Jacksonville pass catchers in catches (20) on just 24 targets, while landing second on the team in receiving yards (204), and a 10.2 yard per reception average.
Strange’s presence in the Jacksonville run game should be a boom to the already recently dominant Jacksonville run game, following the Jaguars’ recent Week 11 192-yard performance on the ground against the Los Angeles Chargers. Strange was entering league conversations as of the best all-around tight end prospects, following league-wide attention on his physical blocking.
It is currently unknown if Strange will have any limitations or be on a snap count, following no full practices this week. With his return, the team now has the positional depth to potentially run more three tight end sets (13 personnel packages), instead of the six offensive linemen sets seen more recently.
