The Cleveland Browns opened as 3-point road underdogs against the New Orleans Saints ahead of their Week 9 match-up, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under on the game is 43.5.
The Browns (5-3) are coming off of a 27-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was an unfortunate flashback to the first game of the season, when the Browns’ defense looked terrible, and the offense couldn’t put things together. Cleveland’s run defense suffered, and the offense set a bad tone early with fumbling the ball
on the opening two possessions. The Browns were able to move the ball well at times, but ultimately couldn’t finish drives, and now they’ve lost the lead in the AFC North. They’ve regrouped before, and they need to do so again to wrap up this road stretch.
The Saints (2-5) are coming off of a bye week. Prior to that, they lost a tight 16-10 game to the Steelers in Paris. The Saints have not been able to get their running game going this season, often having to rely on the passing game. Defensively, New Orleans is among the worst in the NFL, unable to stop the run or pass effectively. It certainly lines up to be a winnable game for Cleveland, even though the Saints are favorites. The Browns are 3-0 at home, but 2-3 on the road. The Saints are 0-3 in their home stadium.
The over/under for the game is 43.5.
