Happy Saturday, folks!
The Bruins will face the New York Rangers in their last preseason tune-up this afternoon, with Opening Night just a few days away.
- When: Today, 2 PM
- Where: TD Garden – Boston, MA
- How to follow: NESN, 98.5 The Sports Hub
- Opposing perspective: Blueshirt Banter
As you may already know, the Bruins made a series of roster cuts on Friday, sending guys like Fabian Lysell, Georgii Merkulov, and Michael Callahan to Providence either or directly or via the waiver wire (provided no one gets claimed).
As a result, the B’s will likely ice a much more NHL-ready roster for this afternoon’s game, both because it’s the last
chance to shake off some rust and because many of the fringe players have been released from camp.
While there’s always the chance of an in-season call-up, today represents the best chance for some on-the-bubble guys to earn their spot on the roster in Washington four days from today.
We’ll try to post when today’s roster is available.
Unlike the Bruins, we will not be demoting any of you fine folks to the Providence Cup of Chowder after today’s game, so you have plenty of time to round yourself into mid-season commenting form.
