Trent McDuffie was wounded in practice as the Los Angeles Rams get more bad news after a bad loss on Monday Night Football. Myles Garrett has been hurt, Aaron Donald’s missed a game due to injury, Puka Nacua’s been hurt. Jaylen Watson has been hurt. Alaric Jackson was suspended and is missing time, but that was due to his decision making. The injuries though, that’s bad luck.
Can the Rams get right? Will they get right at any point in 2026 with at the very least a winning record? If not more? This
team has left so much to be desired, but the losses to the Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills were crushing because the Rams had so many chances to win.
Certainly not the dream 2026 season for the Rams so many people thought it would be.
Trent McDuffie uncertain to play vs. Cardinals after injuring groin (ramswire)
“The Los Angeles Rams came out of Monday night’s game fairly clean on the injury front, but this week of practice has not been kind to them. Kam Curl left Thursday’s practice early after injuring his ankle and on the same day, Trent McDuffie injured his groin.
Sean McVay told reporters Friday that McDuffie won’t practice and is uncertain to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. He’ll officially be listed as questionable.“
Will Rams’ $124 Million All-Pro Play vs. Cardinals? McVay Weighs In (heavy.com)
“Los Angeles also can’t really stumble again, or the risk of plummeting further surfaces. The Rams sit below .500 after five games and have lost twice at home. Sunday’s matchup against a one-win Cardinals team is a “get right” game their season before a road trip to face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7.
Unfortunately for Los Angeles, McDuffie’s new groin injury tosses an unwanted variable into the arena less than 48 hours before kickoff.“
3 Key Matchups That Will Decide Rams vs. Cardinals in Week 6 (si.com)
“The Los Angeles Rams are set to play the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6 as they look to get back to .500 for the third time this season. Following last week’s disappointing loss, the Rams are certainly looking to move on as quickly as they can. A game against the Cardinals to feel better about themselves might be exactly what the doctor ordered.
“Arizona gets your attention, divisional opponent for us. A lot to look at, especially on our side of the ball looking at their defense,” said quarterback Matthew Stafford. “Always have been really multiple in what they show you…Obviously didn’t get the result we wanted, but excited to turn the page and go attack this week.”
Blitzing Budda Baker, Loveless In L.A., And Friday Before The Rams (azcardinals)
“”Whatever the play called is called, that’s my job,” Baker said. “I was surprised we called that early in the game (Sunday) and once we made that call, I was like, ‘Oh yeah this might have a chance to get a sack.'”
The takedown boosted Baker’s sack total to 2½ this season, already a career-best in a season despite only playing five games. It isn’t as if Baker is rushing the passer a ton, just 12 times in 296 defensive snaps, according to TruMedia.
But that 4 percent is still a small jump from last year’s 3.5 percent (38 in 1,084 snaps). And when Baker is getting there, it’s helpful for a pass rush that doesn’t always generate a lot of heat.“
Davis Allen avoids final Week 6 injury report (nbcsports)
“He got in a limited session and the Rams apparently trust him to play despite a pair of missed practices on Wednesday and Thursday. Colby Parkinson (shoulder) also avoided the final report. Tyler Higbee is the Rams tight end you should be using at this point.

Sean McVay, Mike LaFleur downplaying Week 6 reunion matchup(aol.com)
“McVay was asked about going against LaFleur on Thursday.
“Mike and I talk a lot,” said McVay. “I haven’t talked to him yet this week just because it’s been busier than normal, but I will talk to him at some point. I love Mike, and it’s about the Rams versus the Cardinals. We’re going to try to get after him as good as we can this week, but there’s a lot of good tape. He’s done a great job there. We miss him a lot here, but we’re happy for Mike.”
LaFleur was asked Wednesday about returning to SoFi.
“Just based off this last Sunday, outside of just seeing their jerseys and knowing who this team is, as much as I love Sean, I haven’t really thought of him too much,” he said. “I’m sure he’s kind of feeling the same way about me right now.”
The Cardinals have struggled against McVay’s Rams. Since 2017, the Rams are 16-3 against the Cardinals, including a playoff win.“

Injury Report: Cardinals Officially Rule 3 Out, 4 Questionable vs Rams (si.com)
“Off the Cardinals’ injury report is all of Carson Beck (back), Devin Duvernay (ribs), Isaac Seumalo (rest) and Josh Sweat (rest).
For the Rams, both Kam Curl (ankle) and Trent McDuffie (groin) are questionable entering the weekend. Neither practiced on Friday for Los Angeles.
The likes of Davis Allen (foot), Alex Bachman (wrist), Tyler Higbee (rest), Nate Landman (wrist/shoulder), Colby Parkinson (shoulder), Omar Speights (knee), Kegan Trost (hamstring), Josh Wallace (shoulder) and Byron Young (rest) were fully removed from Los Angeles’ injury report and are good to go.“
Aaron Donald: ‘I’m having fun, getting into a good groove’ (therams.com)
“”It felt good,” Donald said of the aforementioned sack, even if it was negated by a penalty. “Watching the film, looking more like myself, feeling more like myself out there. The game is starting to slow down. Feeling good. I’m having fun, getting into a good groove. I have to keep it up. I wish it would have made it, but I didn’t. I have try to make it this week that’s all.”
Returning in Week 5 after missing Week 4 due to back soreness, Donald played 67% of Los Angeles’ defensive snaps, his highest yet across the three games he’s played in his unretirement season.“

NFL Week 6 bold predictions: David Bailey doubles down; Giants RB Cam Skattebo enjoys career day (nfl.com)
“Reid’s reputation as a coaching mastermind is perhaps best exemplified by his success coming off a bye week. Big Red is 22-5 in the regular season when he has the extra week of prep, including a 13-2 record at home in such games. This week will mark just the second time in his career that he will face a winless team when coming off a bye, with the first resulting in a 33-14 win over the Buccaneers as Eagles head coach in Week 5 of 2009. I predict Reid and the undefeated Chiefs will top that and defeat the winless Chargers by at least 20 points on Sunday.”
Comment of the Day:
“Ill put it this way…Mevis didnt block his own kick. The OL did the big olay and let a giant waltz right in for an easy block and Im sure Mevis saw him coming but what can he do
This is all a big distraction to get the spotlight off McVay cowering in the heat of the moment and reverting back to his scared play calling when the game is on the line. It was a bad look on coach imo. You have Staff and 3 plays to get 10 to 20 more yds and this O was slicing that D up and then McVay stops himself and puts his kicker who is not a bomber on the far right hash from 50. I feel like McVay passed the buck on that one tbh
Rams and Bills were out there after the game swappin jersey and ass smackin.
McVay should be pissed at himself and the fact that his horrid ST coach still has a job tells is all we need to know regarding the seriousness of the HC and the GM…the ST coach had the worst STs in the league last yr with the Browns and yet we hire him and are still paying him. Our STs have been super sus since they let Fassel go.
We booted our DB coach last yr as the scapegoat but after he left our D was still sketchy. Rams are gettin weird lol” -BubbaKincaid
