The New England Patriots will be down six members of the active roster against the Las Vegas Raiders, including Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis III.
Both perimeter starters have been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup along with fullback Reggie Gilliam, wide receiver Mack Hollins and fellow cornerbacks Karon Prunty and Channing Canada.
“We got six guys out. We’re going to make some roster moves. We got to have 48 for the game,” head coach Mike Vrabel shared during his final press conference of the week.
Here’s the early game designations leading up to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.
OUT
Patriots
- FB Reggie Gilliam (ankle, knee)
- WR Mack Hollins (calf)
- CB Christian Gonzalez (shoulder)
- CB Carlton Davis III (neck)
- CB Karon Prunty (hamstring)
- CB Channing Canada (hamstring)
Raiders
- TBA
Gonzalez has missed six consecutive practices dating back to the end of September. The extended All-Pro will now miss a second game due to a shoulder injury. And across from No. 0, Davis stayed sidelined throughout preparations due to a neck injury after playing all 59 defensive snaps last Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
What became a 29-26 AFC East upset at Highmark Stadium also did not include Canada after the undrafted rookie was downgraded on the eve of the 1 p.m. ET kickoff with hamstring injury. And now, the scarce cornerback depth chart will also be without its fifth-round pick in Prunty because of a hamstring issue of his own.
Veterans at fullback and wide receiver won’t be on hand in Foxborough, either. Gilliam has seen 58 downs on offense and 39 downs on special teams during his inaugural Patriots campaign. The lead blocker began the week as a limited participant due to knee and ankle ailments before becoming a fifth absence on Thursday. As for Hollins, he sustained a non-contact calf injury after halftime Orchard Park and did not return despite being announced as questionable. A non-participant in practice since then, the 33-year-old wideout currently ranks atop an A.J. Brown-less passing game in targets, catches and yards.

Rhamondre Stevenson is “not out as of yet,” per his head coach, after practicing in a limited capacity throughout work on the Raiders. The downhill running back hobbled off with a knee injury on the final drive last Sunday after totaling 47 rushing yards, 27 receiving yards, one touchdown as well as a two-point conversion.
New England currently carries one open spot on the 53-man roster after promoting safety and back-to-back standard elevation Mike Brown. It’ll soon be going to Brenden Schooler. The 2025 special teams captain had his 21-day practice window open last month and is eligible for activation after spending the initial four games on non-football injury list. He has graduated from limited participation to full participation.
“Yeah, I imagine Schooler will be ready to go,” Vrabel said.
