For fans of Husker athletics, March 28, 2026, is a very busy day with the potential to become much, much busier.
When Matt Rhule and Troy Dannen decided to move spring football practice up a couple weeks and, by extension, the quickly returned spring football game, they picked
a very busy day. The Husker baseball and softball teams are also at home with the men playing Indiana and the women playing UCLA (both teams currently in the top 10) with the contests being scheduled simultaneously at 2pm.
So far, no problem – check out the football game and then wander over to the Bowlin Stadium/Hawks Field complex and pick your poison. However, the potential remains for a couple more games – March 28th is also a potential date for the for the men’s NCAA tournament Elite 8 round and the women’s Sweet 16. This isn’t a deep dive into the odds of either happening, just an acknowledgment those games could be in play.
So just for fun, go ahead and pick what you’d attend/watch if –
Oh, one more.
If Memorial Stadium could get a bowl game, would you bundle up and support it for good old Nebraska U – even if the Huskers weren’t in it?
