The brooms are ready.
The Mariners have won four straight games and two straight series. After bludgeoning the Braves in the final two in Atlanta, they’ve returned home with consecutive wins over the Cardinals. The Mariners will try to pick up their fifth win in a row and first sweep since early August.
Logan Gilbert gets the start for the Mariners. He’s thrown at least six innings in his last three starts with a 2.37 FIP and 38% strikeout rate. His only career matchup against the Cardinals came last September
when he struck out 10 over eight innings and allowed just two runs; the Mariners lost 2-0.
The Mariners face Cardinals’ righty Michael McGreevy and send out their “we’re facing a righty” lineup. Dom Canzone gets the start in right field, and Cole Young gets his first start at second base since Sept. 2.
