We’re back today to get you caught up on the latest from Syracuse’s Olympic Sports as the spring sports calendar ramps up.
Rowing:
The #9 Orange women were off this weekend as they train for the ACC Championships to begin on May 15th.
The #12 Syracuse men are off until the Eastern Sprints in Worcester on May 17th.
Softball (18-26, 4-18):
Syracuse ended their season being swept by the #13 Virginia Tech Hokies, falling in each game by 10+ runs in five innings. It’s the second straight year that the Orange
have failed to qualify for the ACC Tournament after four straight appearances from 2021-24.
Jadyn Burney led Syracuse in batting average (.317), hits and stolen bases (20). Madison Knight was the team leader in home runs (15), runs batted in (38) and walks (29). Knight also led the Orange with 9 wins on the mound.
Track and Field:
Syracuse had a strong weekend on the track led by Jamir Brown’s 13.39 time in the 110m hurdles. Brown’s time is top-ten in the country in the event this season and not far off the school record of 13.28. Peyton Rollins’ 13.97 in the 100m hurdles is now the 9th-fastest in the ACC this season.
The Orange are at Cornell on Tuesday for their final tune-up before the ACC Outdoor Championships.
We’ll have more updates next week.
