Julian Brandt has had an interesting career. The former German star had a major breakout with Bayer Leverkusen and was looking like he would become one of the great German stars of his generation. However, Brandt never really reached the heights that were set for him after his hot start with Die Werkself. Now at 30 -years-old, as a free agent, he could be headed to Spain.
After seven years with Borussia Dortmund, advanced talks are taking place with Celta Vigo, according to reports from Sport Bild.
Reports indicate that the player is expected to sign a contract until 2028, with the option for an additional year to be included. While a drop from Borussia Dortmund, Celta Vigo is a respected Spanish side, who finished sixth in La Liga last season.
Brandt enjoyed success with Dortmund and earned a very respectable 48 caps for the German national team to date. While he has likely already played his last match for Die Mannschaft, it will be sad to see a former top talent leave Germany. Just make sure to not show up late to any more meetings Julian!
